Saracens - Coach Education

Coach Education Programme

The Saracens Coach Education Programme is designed to aid coaches from Saracens Partner Clubs & Schools, Over the last few seasons Saracens have identified the need and demand for access to a high quality Coach Education programme across Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent.

The programmes aim is to continually provide club, school and DPP coaches with increased knowledge and new ideas to make the standards in the junior game of the highest quality. During 2015-16 the Coach Education Programme interacted and help facilitate the development of over 2000 coaches and teachers, providing them with new ideas implemented by the Saracens Academy and First Team.

Elite Coach Education

During the 2015-16 season Saracens provided the largest schedule for the Elite Coach Education Programme since its introduction in 2010. All evenings are held at Allianz Park Stadium. The sessions provide an insight into the workings to the game on and off the field, with some of the highest qualified presenters from across the sporting world.  Last season topics gave vital information and insight to the Elite Game, thoughts and ideas from Saracens double winning coaches and members of England’s performance coaches.

Saracens are currently putting together the programme schedule for 2016-17 to help develop both our partner clubs and schools by covering a range of new topics to provide the most insightful information possible to help grow the game.

DPP Coach Education

After consultation with our coaches on The Developing Player Pathway across Hertfordshire, Essex and Kent, in 2016/17 we will be delivering in each County four specific Saracens DPP Coach CPD courses. The themes will be: The Saracens way, Strength & Conditioning, the importance of movement, Session Planning & Review and Coaching Through Games.

These CPD courses will be exclusively delivered to the coaches on our Developing Player Pathway and content will be aimed specifically for players in the Saracens/Country programme.

There will be an opportunity to be assessed against the content, through practical delivery and our vision is to certificate and accredit the coaches once all have been completed.

Club Coach Education

With the 2014/15 season seeing over 30 partner clubs engage in a Club Coach Education evening and 10 Independent Schools engage with a session at Allianz Park, Saracens Rugby Development team will continue to grow these sessions for 2015/16. Club Coach Education sessions are a case of we come to you! we will spend and evening at your rugby club working with a range of age group coaches. We give the coaches participating a chance to take part in practical games and drills led by Saracens coaches providing a foundation to develop individuals coaching techniques by showcasing the evening with fresh content and hands on experience.
