Comeback kid Fraser scores in Saracens win
Saracens maintained their 100% record after beating London Wasps 19 - 12, in a game that saw Will Fraser score in his first game back from injury.
The 24 year-old flanker raced away to score in the 46th minute to score in his first appearance for Saracens since April.
The first half was a 40 minute affair that offered little in regards to points but both sides produced sustained periods of pressure. Alex Goode, starting in the No.10 shirt kicked the first points of the game in the opening exchanges.
London Wasps Kearnan Myall was then sent to the sin bin after an off the ball tackle that left Will Fraser on the ground, Goode missed the penalty as both sides went into their respective dressing rooms with room for improvement.
Saracens introduced Owen Farrell at the break and with him at fly-half Alex Goode reverted to his accustomed full-back position – and it was Goode who played is part in the game’s first try.
The England full-back collected Owen Farrell’s pass to then release Will Fraser who raced away down left hand touchline to score the try – converted
Saracens and Wasps introduced their substitutions and it was the team from Adams Park who would score next. A break from winger Christian Wade was supported by captain Chris Bell who scored just right if the posts, Andy Goode missed the extras.
Owen Farrell kicked three penalties as the clock ticked down to full-time before Chris Ashton was sent to the sin bin for deliberately knocking the ball on. Wasps scored again through captain Chris Bell, but it was Saracens who took the spoils as they remain unbeaten in the Premiership going into the Heineken Cup next weekend.
