Euro Watch - Racing beaten in Brive

Saracens’ European Champions Cup opponents Racing Metro 92 were beaten 36-12 on Saturday by a resurgent Brive side at the Stade Amedee-Domenech.

Brive ran in four tries in a convincing home win against the Paris giants. Racing Metro scrumhalf Maxime Machenaud kicked all of his side’s points with four penalties.

Brive lock Dominiko Waqaniburotukula crossed for Brive’s first try in the 24th minute, with No8 Sisa Koyamaibole dotting down for a brace of scores. Replacement fly-half Romain Sola scored Brive’s final try to surprise the much fancied Parisian outfit on Saturday evening.

Racing Metro 92 now sit fourth in the Top 14 behind leaders Toulon, second placed ASM Clermont Auvergne and Parisian neighbours, Stade Francais.
