Exeter Chiefs vs Saracens - Preview
Exeter Chiefs welcome Mark McCall’s Saracens side to Sandy Park this Saturday, in round 9 on the Aviva Premiership.
Rob Baxter’s Chiefs' have won their last five matches in all tournaments since tripping up in Bayonne in the European Challenge Cup on 18th October. The Chiefs have won their last six fixtures at Sandy Park since Leicester won there in round 2 of Aviva Premiership Rugby.
Exeter have won only two of their nine previous encounters with Saracens in all tournaments, both in the Premiership, at Vicarage Road in 2010 and at Sandy Park in 2012.
In last season’s fixture in Devon, Saracens won a tight contest 9-16, with replacement Ben Ransom scoring a first half try and stand-in fly half Alex Goode kicking the rest of the points. It was a game where Saracens flanker Jacques Burger broke Lewis Moody’s Premiership record for most tackles in a match, with the inspirational Namibian loose-forward making 34 hits in an all-action contest.
Saracens travel to Devon on Saturday to face the in-form Chiefs, kick-off 16h30.
