Figallo feeling fine
Juan Figallo made his debut for Saracens in their 25-20 win over local rivals Harlequins.
The Argentine tighthead played his first game of rugby in over 13 months, and was delighted to have made his return to the game.
Speaking after the game, Figallo said; “For me, today was a really big game. I’ve had 13 months away from rugby, so it was always going to be a big occasion. I really enjoyed finally playing with the guys after a few months training with them, so I’m very happy.
“After twenty minutes I felt like my legs couldn’t move, but I grew into the game. It was great to get the 50+ minutes today and I can finally say I’m a Saracens player!”
During his career Figallo has forged himself the reputation as one the games finest scrummagers, but the Argentine tighthead is keen to stress that he is nowhere near the finished article just yet after spending 13 months on the sidelines.
“Sometimes in the scrums we were very good, and sometimes we gave away a few penalties. I have to adapt to playing again, and new ways a looking at the scrum. This is my first game, so I know that with every game I will learn more and be able to adapt.
He added; “It’s going to come back to me, and I’m really happy to be out there once again.”
