Saracens - First Look Captain's Comments

Good afternoon and welcome to Allianz Park,

Ahead of us we have huge games over the next few weeks to tackle head on. We have some massive clashes against the best teams England and Europe has to offer, starting today against Wasps.

You always know when you play Wasps that the game will be a battle. We’ve had some famous battles over the years, and Dai Young has put together a squad of real quality once again. They are a fiercely competitive side and have made a superb progress as a club over the last few seasons in the Aviva Premiership and in Europe, so we know that as players that we’re facing one of our toughest challenges of the season today. And our clashes with Wasps are always a huge test.

There are some massive games ahead and these are the types of fixtures that we all love to be a part of. You want to be testing yourself against the best players, the best teams playing in front of packed houses.

One thing that we’re always excited about is playing in front of a sold-out Allianz Park. When this place is full the atmosphere really does inspire the players, so we’re very excited to be back at our home with the place packed to the rafters.

On a personal note, I am immensely proud to be making my 200th appearance for Saracens today. Being part of this group has been hugely enjoyable experience, as has working alongside people who care deeply for each other in an environment we are all blessed to work in. Every time I pull on a Saracens jersey I’m motivated by playing alongside guys I can call friends, and for people within the organisation who bust a gut every single day for each other.

Thanks for all your continued support, and enjoy the day.
