Saracens - First Look Captain's Comments Irish

Good afternoon and welcome back to Allianz Park,

Today we return to Aviva Premiership action after a fortnight of European competition in which we have picked up two bonus point wins.

Our display against Northampton Saints at Franklin’s Gardens was extremely pleasing, whilst we were satisfied with the result, we weren’t too pleased with how we performed in our win over Ospreys at Allianz Park last Saturday, and we are still seeking more consistency. With that in mind we have enjoyed a great training week where the atmosphere has been one of concentration and determination. We’ll have to dig in at times today as were facing a very dangerous London Irish side, a team who have a number of familiar faces in their ranks and have shown real steel and resolve in their performances this season.

What Irish will bring today is a physical, uncompromising edge to their game and they’ve added some fine finishers to their ranks, so we understand that they’ll provide yet another tough examination for us today.

Heading into the Anglo-Welsh Cup next week we are approaching the end of this first section of the season and once again the Aviva Premiership and European Rugby Champions Cup have reminded us how tough these competitions are to compete in. So, it’s a testament to the collective effort of all our players and backroom staff that we’re a well placed in both competitions but we know that there is plenty of hard-work to come and that, as always, our focus will be on the next game.

What’s great for us is that Allianz Park will once again be packed to the rafters. We really value your vocal support and the atmosphere you help create at our home is second to none, so more of the same today please!

Thanks, and enjoy the game.

Brad
