Saracens Sport Foundation and the O2 have worked in partnership to deliver a six-week employability course to fifty young people, aged 16 – 24 years old who are not in education, employment or training.
The course delivers a programme of personal, social and practical skills to equip young people with the confidence and skills to improve their employability. The young person will continue to have support for several months after they compete the course, as they venture onto their next step.
Participants will also be funded to undertake a Think Big project. This will enable young people to come up with an idea to improve their local community, and they will receive funding to make their project a reality.
Working in partnership with the O2, the programme will offer young people opportunities to undertake work experience. They will support the O2 events team running the London O2 Touch Tour event with Jonny Wilkinson, and be offered the chance to undertake work shadowing roles at the O2 Arena for the Rugby World Cup send-off event which will be attended by the England Rugby players and will include entertainment by Take That.
