Saracens - Foundation - Sarrie's skills club

Sarrie's Skills Club is an award winning, out of school sports provision that targets young people with severe autism aged 14-24, which takes place every Monday evening between 4:30 – 6:30.

This programme is the pioneer in itself as it is the first provision specifically for autism to be run by a professional sports teams in the UK. We use multi-sport sessions with each member having a tailored training programme in order to suit their specific needs.

The aim of the sessions are to improve the physical capability of each individual as well as using it as a vehicle to improve basic life skills such as social interaction, sleep and their behaviour. In order to achieve these aims each member will have at least 1 on 1 support which consists of both staff and volunteers who are all devoted and passionate in aiding towards the cause.

Whilst our members are down stairs blasting through their activities, we provide a respite area to parents and carers which takes place in our hospitality lounge, where they are able take a well-earned rest or share some of their stories with others.
