Get Onside! Kids give back to local community
Young people from the Saracens Sport Foundation Get Onside programme were at Allianz Park this week to give children and parents from a local women’s refuge a great day out during half term.
Toys that had been generously donated by staff at community partner Gemalto were distributed by our Get Onside participants to the young children in attendance, all of whom come from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds. New games, toys and craft items were all provided for them to choose from, and after all the excitement and plenty of refreshments, there were able to take part in lots of fun multi-skill games!
Get Onside participant Chantelle Willis, who has been involved with the project for over three years said “it’s great to be here and to be able to give something back by giving these young kids fun things to do, especially at somewhere as inspirational as Allianz Park”.
We were joined by representatives from Gemalto, Victoria Cunnell and Fernando Perez Cruz who joined the Saracens Sport Foundaiton as community partners at the end of last year to support our social inclusion work on challenging London estates through the Get Onside programme.
