Global Network roundup

Two of Saracens Global Networ sides were in action over the weekend, here Henry Fraser provides a roundup of all the action.

After a loss to their nearest rivals last week, Timisoara Saracens got back to winning ways with a home win against CSM Olimpia.

Looking to regain second place in the league the home team came out firing scoring four tries and a four try bonus point, in the first half. It was a very high scoring first forty minutes with Olimpia scoring seventeen points themselves. A scoreless second half gave Timisoara five more points in the league and a four point gap over third place.

Final score: Timisoara Saracens 26 - 17 CSM Olimpia.

Next week: Timisoara Saracens will be looking to cement a top two spot when they play bottom placed team Cluj, with only one round remaining of the regular season after that match.

Unfortunately VVA Saracens Moscow did not quite have the same success. They faced the defending league champions Krasny Yar at home. The Krasny Yar showed why they won the league last year.

Final Score: VVA Saracens Moscow 22 - 34 Kransy Yar.

Next match: VVA Saracens Moscow v Metalurg.

Despite the loss VVA Saracens Moscow received good news this week as seven Moscow Saracens players have been called up to play for Russia against Zimbabwe in their Rugby World Cup 2015 play-off match.
