A host of Saracens Global Network sides were in action over the weekend, here Henry Fraser rounds up the action.
São Paulo Saracens faced a tough challenge at home this week against Desterro in the Brazilian Super 10 competeition. With a number of players injured, São Paulo Saracens we convincingly beaten by opponents Desterro, with the visitors proving too strong for the home team winning 46-0.
In a fortnights time São Paulo Saracens travel 5,000km to Natal where a win will keep them in the title race.
In Romania, Timisoara Saracens played Cluj at home scoring seven tries winning the game 46-26. It was an important game for Timisoara with the win securing second place for Timisoara Saracens in the Super Liga CEC Bank with one regular season game still to play. They are four points behind the leaders Baia Mare and eight points ahead of third place Constanta.
On Wednesday evening Timisoara Saracens face Dinamo in the final game of the season with the play-off match scheduled for Saturday.
Impala Saracens started the first leg of the Safaricom 7's with great success, winning the plate competition beating last year’s leg winners Homeboyz in the group stage and Nakuru (defending fifteen-a-side champions) in the plate competition.
Two Impala Saracens players also played for Saracens in the Premiership 7's. Samuel Oliech and Ian Minjire were excellent in helping Saracens beat Wasps in the opening fixture of the night. Minjire would go on to score a fine solo effort in the final game of the evening against hosts Northampton Saints.
