Goode praises forward effort
Try-scorer Alex Goode praised Saracens forwards, in particular their front-row, after they beat Sale Sharks 40-19 at Allianz Park.
“The front-row boys work unbelievably hard,” said Goode.
“I don’t think they get enough credit really and that penalty try at the end was a real killer blow for Sale and a real reward for the forwards. They deserve a lot of praise.”
On the game he added; “There were a few too many line breaks in that second half defensively, but overall in attack it was a great first half, and we showed some great attacking shape and the boys played really well in that respect.”
On his first half try he said; “It was the classic bouncing ball assist. I picked it up and went on some aimless run at a few forwards. I picked a gap and went through and I’d probably not have taken on the full-back if it wasn’t Rhys Gill in support, so I pinned my ears back and went for it.”
