Hargreaves confident of Sarries response
Alistair Hargreaves has backed Saracens to respond after a disappointing 24-31 defeat to Northampton Saints.
The Saracens skipper lamented his sides first half performance, but backed his teammates to respond as they head to Exeter next weekend to face an in-form Chiefs outfit.
Speaking after the game, Hargreaves said; “We certainly did some good things it that second half, but if you play as poorly as we did in that first half, it’s very tough to win rugby matches. They certainly are some positives, but we have to be honest with ourselves as that first period just wasn’t good enough today.
"We need to get back on task this week. Our energy was sapped today at times, so we need to get that buzz back and play our way. We allowed them to enforce themselves on us rather than the other way around."
Hargreaves added; “We have to rally together. We have an incredible bunch of guys, with a huge amount of resilience, who hate losing. We place a huge amount of pride for the club we play for, and I expect a big performance next week. We place a huge amount of emphasis on things like the way we perform, and we let ourselves down today in that regard.”
