Have your say on our Community Garden

Go Green Project - have your say on the Saracens Community Garden

Over the past six months, Saracens and the Saracens Sport Foundation have been working behind the scenes to design and develop a Saracens Community Garden within the grounds of Allianz Park.

The garden will aim to inspire, engage and benefit the North London community and bring new and innovative projects to Allianz Park.  We aim to create a holistic and therapeutic retreat to improve people’s physical & emotional wellbeing for vulnerable & at risk groups within Barnet and the surrounding areas.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite all Saracens Supporters and local Barnet or North London residents to the first Saracens Community Garden Forum. This event will take place on Thursday 14th May, 1:00pm – 2:00pm in the Fez Club at Allianz Park.

The aim of the forum is to listen to your thoughts, opinions and gain feedback on the design, ideas, plans and proposed projects from people within the local community and the people we hope will be involved in the Go Green project.

We value all feedback and your involvement in this event will be greatly appreciated and will help shape the future work that we do on this particular project.

In November, 260 primary school pupils took part in a Saracens Go Green garden design competition, showing their flair and creativity to create their ideal garden. We received some fantastic designs including outdoor classrooms, Critter Coves, Bug hotels, toadstool seating, bird baths, recycling areas, seasonal displays, a ‘Garden of Nations’ and much, much more. The top ten designs were chosen and one lucky school received a surprise visit from our very own Charlie Hodgson to collect their certificates and prizes.

These initial designs have been developed further by two talented Garden Design and Horticulture students from Capel Manor College who have transformed the pupil’s visions into a comprehensive design that we would like to take forward on to the next stage.
