Hodgson to skipper Saracens in Scottish clash
Fly-half Charlie Hodgson will captain Saracens in tonight's preseason clash against Championship side London Scottish, kick-off 19h30.
The 33-year-old outside half will be skippering Mark McCall’s side which includes summer signing Jim Hamilton and flanker Will Fraser, as they look to continue their preparations for the 2014/15 season.
"It’s nice to be given the opportunity to be captain, and I’m looking forward to leading the team out,” said Hodgson.
“It’s our first game of the year, so let’s hope we get ourselves off to a good start and that it sets us up for the rest of the season.
“We had the game against Montpellier earlier on but this is the first proper hit out for all of us and no doubt for London Scottish as well. It’s about putting onto the field what we’ve been doing in training really. We’ve put in a lot of hard work, and made a few tweaks to certain things in our attack and our defence and we hope to put that into action and making the best of it.
He added; “I’m sure they’ll be a few mistakes on the way but we’ll do what’s always asked of us and that to work as hard as we can”.
