James Johnston to join Wasps

Saracens can confirm that prop forward James Johnston will join Wasps.

The Samoan international tighthead will join the Ricoh Arena outfit for the 2015/16 season after two seasons at Allianz Park.

Johnston, who made a total of 51 appearances for the club after signing from Harlequins in 2013 will link up with Dai Young’s side later this summer.

On Johnston’s departure, Saracens director of rugby, Mark McCall said: “We would like to thank James for his contribution to the club over the last two seasons.

“With Petrus Du Plessis, Juan Figallo and Kieran Longbottom all performing so well, and with competition for places in the tighthead position so hotly contested at the club, James hasn’t had the game time he may have wanted this season. He has contributed to a successful season for Saracens and he leaves with our best wishes for the future.”
