Joubert praises Saracens response

Ernst Joubert was happy to see Saracens bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Bath by beating a much improved Gloucester outfit at Allianz Park yesterday.

Joubert, who played an impressive 80 minutes for Saracens during their 28-21 win, praised his side’s response after falling 3-13 behind to the Cherry & Whites.

Speaking after the game Joubert said; “The boys were massively disappointed to have been beaten at The Rec, so were very happy to have got the win. It’s a sign of a good side when you bounce back from a poor performance.

“I thought we started a bit slow, but we stuck in there and eventually got ourselves the lead. We applied a lot of pressure in the second half, so we are a little disappointed that we didn’t get the four tries but credit to Gloucester for coming back and making it at a seven point game.”

He added; “I thought we worked hard, and played really well. They have a massive pack, and a lot of pace in the backs so they like to throw the ball around. They play with a lot of flair, we had to make a lot of tackles, and they had us on the back-foot a few times. They’re a much improved side and are building a lot of momentum so we are happy to come away with the win.”
