“Some of the scores stemmed from outstanding team play and clinical execution.”

Georgie Lingham scored a hat-trick of tries to help Saracens Women thrash Worcester Valkyries and stay top of the Tyrrells Premier 15s table.

The Women in Black, who welcomed back four internationals to the starting XV dominated the first half with four unanswered tries to lead 22-0, then ran riot after the break, running in seven more tries to complete the whitewash.

It was the second week in a row they have not conceded a point, following the 29-0 defeat of Loughborough Lightning last weekend.

Only four minutes were on the clock when Lingham opened the scoring, going over on the right after some good handling and carries, and soon after May Campbell bundled over from a driving lineout.

Two tries in quick succession – the first from Vicky Fleetwood in the left corner after some excellent carries and offloads from Rosie Galligan and Lauren Newman and the second from Lingham to complete a great two on one with Zoe Harrison – stamped Sarries’ authority on the game.

The visitors continued in the same vein after the break, Kat Evans spotting a gap to dart through after some slick handling from the back line in the 44thminute.

Lingham then completed her hat-trick in some style, turning on the afterburners to outsprint her opponents from 60 metres, before Hannah Botterman, who replaced Hannah Duffy at half-time, made it three tries in five minutes as Sarries turned the screw.

There was no let-up for Worcester as Kay Searcy joined the scorers, and even when Harrison was given a yellow card in the 66thminute, the Valkyries could not make the numerical advantage count.

Instead it was Saracens who continued to add to the tally, turning the ball over and setting up Fleetwood to free Lotte Clapp to tear through from the halfway line.

There was still time for Sarries to add insult to injury with Nina Vistisen gliding through in the 70thminute and Harrison rounding off a comprehensive victory at the death.
