McCall - 'Plenty to work on'
Mark McCall was pleased with his side’s character after Saracens last gasp 34-28 win over Wasps at Twickenham Stadium, but admitted they have plenty to work on in the coming weeks.
“We weren’t at our best, and you don’t expect us to be at the beginning of the season,” said the Saracens director of rugby.
“To be eight points down with twelve minutes to go gave us a mountain to climb, but we showed enough class and enough quality to come back a couple of times. We are sensible enough to know that it wasn’t our best performance and there is plenty to work on."
He added; "At half-time the score line was good for us, it was 20 points to 9. We were a little disappointed and I think that the scorline flattered us. Wasps are a very good side. In the second half they gave our breakdown in particular a hard time. We are relieved to come away with the win and the five points.”
