McCall wins Premiership Rugby award

Mark McCall was named as the Director of Rugby of the Season at the Premiership Rugby Awards 2013 earlier this evening.

In a year that has seen the club reach the semi-finals of the Premiership for the fourth consecutive season and also reach the final four of the Heineken Cup, McCall collected the award ahead of Leicester Tigers’ Richard Cockerill, Wasps’ Dai Young and London Welsh’s Lynn Jones who were also nominated.

Saracens Chairman Nigel Wray said: “Mark has been an integral part of what I like to call the Saracens revolution over the last four years. Since taking over from Brendan Venter in 2011, he has guided the squad with quiet authority and the award is fully deserved.”
