Backroom staff praise Figallo effort
Tighthead prop Juan Figallo put a delayed start to the season firmly behind him, in an impressive 80 minute performance away to Leicester Tigers at the weekend.
The Argentine front-rower made his third appearance for the club at Welford Road, after making his Saracens debut against Harlequins in the LV=Cup earlier in November.
During his road to recovery, Figallo has worked closely alongside Saracens physio Jonathan George (left) and Strength and Conditioning coach Vincent Giacobbi (right) to get back onto the field; and both George and Giacobbi have spoken of their delight at seeing the amiable prop forward complete a testing 80 minutes over the weekend.
Senior squad physio Jonathan George; “It’s massive seeing him get 80 minutes under his belt. For Juan to complete the whole game against a very good side like Leicester, in a game where there were so many scrums, is some achievement.
“It’s been brilliant to see him playing. After the ‘Quins game he came over to me and Vince and gave us a big hug and kiss on the head. It’s been real team effort”.
Saracens Strength and Conditioning coach, Vincent Giacobbi; “His work-rate and enthusiasm is phenomenal. He is honestly one of the most hard-working people we have ever come across in our time with the club. He has been upbeat throughout his rehab and has had a positive outlook despite a few setbacks. It’s great that’s he’s back playing.”
Joe Collins, Head of Medical added; “Everyone in the Medical Department, Strength and Conditioning department, all the coaches and Juan himself have worked together and all played their part – it’s just great to see Juan out there doing what he does best once again.”
