Munster clash to go 'down to the wire' - Barritt
Brad Barritt has spoken of Saracens’ excitement of facing Munster in Round 2 of the European Champions Cup, as they prepare to face the Irish province at Thomond Park on Friday night.
Coming off the back of an impressive 30-23 win against ASM Clermont Auvergne, Saracens face a Munster side who snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in their opening weekend’s European Champions Cup fixture against Sale Sharks, courtesy of a last gasp Ian Keatley drop-goal.
Speaking about Friday’s clash, Barritt believes the clash between last season's beaten semi-finalists and beaten finalists will be a close run affair; “It’s definitely going to be a game that goes down to the wire and we’re going to have to be as clinical as ever - we have to be prepared in every element of our game.”
“There’s been a buzz of excitement around the whole squad so far this week. We’ve had a great start to our European campaign and Munster at Thomond Park is a huge opportunity for us to make another memory.
“We talk about going to these historical grounds, places where people have found very tough to win and we know it’s going to be extremely tough, but we’re confidence that we can go there and do the job.
He added; “They’re a team with a wealth of European experience, and a team that are able to consistently work for 80 minutes to achieve the result that they need.
