A good way to mark my 100th - Itoje
Maro Itoje’s 100th Saracens appearance proved to be a memorable one as the Men in Black recorded their first victory over Harlequins at The Stoop since 2014.
The 23-year-old reached the landmark by coming on as a second half replacement and produced an eye-catching 30-minute display.
Sarries had to battle from 20-12 behind to win against their London rivals and Itoje believes the comeback showed a lot about the squad’s mentality.
“I think it says a lot about the character of the squad,” he said.
"We have a lot of top, top professionals who never-say-die and we battled for the whole 80 minutes and that’s what we’re about.
“We were down for most of the game so to get the win we’ll take that and we’re happy with that.
“It took a lot. Whenever Quins play us they’re very physical and they bring their A game so it took a lot.
“We haven’t done too well here in previous years so to come down to The Stoop and put a few wrongs right is a good way to mark my 100th.”
