Alex Lozowski "It's A Positive Place Here"

Alex Lozowski says that the squad is in a very positive place as they prepare to take on Sale Sharks in the Premiership on Friday night.

Sarries beat Newcastle 25-3 at Allianz Park on Saturday to notch up their fourth successive win in the league and currently sit second, one point off Exeter who lost at home to Worcester Warriors at the weekend.

Lozowski praised the mood in camp, saying: “It’s a very positive place here at the moment, this is a really important four-game block for us during the Six Nations, we’ve got players away so it’s a chance for our squad to show its strength.

“Everyone’s really positive and we got off to a good start on Saturday against Newcastle so everyone’s looking to build on that now and we’re looking forward to Friday night.”

Sale currently occupy sixth place in the Premiership and have won back-to-back Premiership games and Lozowski says that it’ll be a good challenge against the team from the North-West, telling Saracens.com:

“Sale are a very good team, especially at home on a Friday night, so we know the challenge that awaits us. I think they’ve got some outstanding players, they’re very good defensively and very well organised.

“In attack they’ve got players who can hurt you all across the field. As a back, looking at their backs we’re aware of how dangerous they are in attack, they’re very quick and elusive.

The 24-year-old added: “We’re going to have to be right on it and are going to have to make sure we don’t give them the opportunities they’re looking for. Everything is set up for a really good game on Friday night and we’re all really looking forward to it.”

Fellow back Max Malins came on to score his first Premiership try at the weekend against Newcastle and young players have enjoyed a good spell recently, having gained experience through the Anglo-Welsh Cup as well as in the Premiership.

The squad has shown impressive depth and Lozowski explained the importance of first-team chances, saying: “It’s brilliant to see young players getting a chance, these guys have trained really well, coming in every day in and doing their best and putting their best foot forward in training.

“Now it’s their time to get onto the field to play and it’s great to see them come on and have such a great impact in bringing that energy, for them it’s another opportunity this weekend to get out there and show everyone how good they are.”
