Austerberry: "We are excited, the players are excited and we are looking forward to putting in a performance"
Saturday will see Saracens Women take on Firwood Waterloo Ladies at Allianz Park in the final round of the Tyrrells Premier 15s.
This will be the team’s first home match since they faced Bristol Bears in January and comes off the back of a close win over Loughborough Lightning last week.
In doing so, Saracens Women secured top spot ahead of the play-offs and Head Coach Alex Austerberry is looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd as part a double header with the Men’s Champions Cup quarter-final against Glasgow Warriors.
“Momentum keeps on building securing the top spot in the league last week and now the challenge of Firwood Waterloo Ladies as part of the double header fixture.
“It is a great way to end the regular season at home in front of a record crowd. It is an exciting time for everyone at the club and things are building on and off the field.”
As well as the first team match at Allianz Park, the Development team will also be in action against Firwood Waterloo Ladies as they look to win their league.
With injuries and players coming off the back of a hard Women’s Six Nations campaign the depth of the playing will be tested but Austerberry and the players are looking forward to the occasion on Saturday.
“There will be a few changes this week and again it is testament to the strength in depth we have as a group.
“We are excited, the players are excited, and we are looking forward to putting in a performance that keeps momentum building.”
