Bath a match for anyone on their day – McCall

Mark McCall says Bath can match any rugby side when they are at their free-flowing best.

Despite lying eighth in the Aviva Premiership and crashing out of the Champions Cup in the pool stages, the West Country outfit have recorded some impressive wins against the likes of Scarlets and Toulon.

On the road Todd Blackadder’s side have won four league games and having beaten Saracens in their last outing, McCall is wary of the threat they pose.

“They’ve been a little bit like other teams… a little bit inconsistent,” he said.

All season they’ve produced performances that have been good; they beat Toulon at home and they’ve had some really strong wins on the road.

“I remember watching them on the road at Worcester (46-25 win) recently and Leicester (27-23 win) at the start of the season.

“They have some phenomenal players and on their day they’re a match for anybody.”
