Captain's Comments ahead of facing Bath Rugby

Firstly, on behalf of the players, I would like to thank everyone who made the trip to Toulouse last weekend to support the team. It was great to see the pockets of Saracens fans in the Stade Ernest-Wallon. To go to the four-time European champions and win is something that we can be proud of as is the fact we remained unbeaten throughout the Pool stages in a group that contains two European heavyweights. To hopefully then have the prospect of a home-quarter final at Allianz Park is a great reward to look forward to.

But first we face Bath and none of this will count against a side that has quality throughout their squad. One thing you know about Bath is that they have the quality and strength in depth across the squad to challenge anyone.

They have a good blend of youth and experience, so we will have to increase our energy and effort to another level for Saturday’s game.

One thing that we will have to be conscious of during this period of games [during the Six Nations] is that if we are to be successful it will require a real collective effort. We have some immensely talented players and people at Saracens who will be called upon over the next nine weeks, and I’m sure they will do themselves and the club proud.

Again we urge our home support to make Allianz Park a fortress with your support and continue to drive this team forward!

Thanks for your ongoing support.
