Clark set to shine at Sarries – Kruis
George Kruis has backed new-signing Calum Clark to shine in the Black and Red of Saracens after the north Londoners announced the signing of the Northampton Saints flanker.
Having faced each other in some classic Saints vs Sarries battles over the years, Kruis has played alongside Clark for England Saxons in 2014, and trained alongside the former Leeds flanker as a member of England’s wider Rugby World Cup squad in the summer of 2015.
Speaking about Clark, Kruis said: “Having got to know Calum, he is a really down to earth bloke who takes a lot of pride in what he does as a rugby player. He’s an incredibly hard-working guy who has a real eye for detail in how he prepares and how he plays. As a player, he is a tough, uncompromising back-rower who brings a real physical edge.
“Off the pitch, I think he’ll really benefit from the culture at Sarries and there’s plenty of lads who he knows already. We’re really looking forward to welcoming him into the fold later this summer.”
