Crossdale relishing battle with old club

Ali Crossdale is relishing the chance to play against some old teammates when Saracens travel to Sale Sharks on Friday night.

The England Under-20s winger was part of the Manchester club’s academy in his teens and attended nearby schools Brooklands Primary and Altrincham Grammar, captaining the latter for five years.

He moved on to Newcastle Falcons before finding home at Sarries and can’t to head back to the North West.

He said: “I grew up and went to school near Sale and was part of their academy which was enjoyable.

“It’ll be nice to see some familiar faces and I’m looking forward to going up against them.”

Crossdale impressed as the Men in Black edged out Leicester Tigers in Round 1 of the Premiership Rugby Cup at Allianz Park last weekend.

The Wolfpack scored three tries in the win to collect four points and Crossdale says the squad have had a positive week of training to make improvements.

“To kick our cup campaign off with a victory was very pleasing,” he said.

“We have drawn confidence from it and have taken positives but we know what areas we need to improve on.

“We’ve had a good week of training and I’m excited to get out there.”
