Dance Spectacular at Wembley Stadium!
On Saturday 8th April, at Saracens Derby Day clash with Harlequins at Wembley Stadium, dancers from across the Foundations programmes took to the pitch to perform.
Always a highlight of the year for our performers, this year we kicked the day off with two show stopping performances from 130 of our over 50s from our Love to Dance programme, who strutted their stuff to the live performance from Rock Choir. Our dancers have been working on their routines for the last 2 months and this hard work certainly paid off, with cheers and smiles from the crowds. All our performers were thrilled with their performances, Diane Baker said
“What a super day – we all thoroughly enjoyed it and thank you for all your hard work in organising everything. It went incredibly well and, I think, the best one so far.”
This was not our only performance of the day though, as at half time we saw over 750 dancers aged 5-18years old take to the pitch to perform with pop sensation Louisa Johnson. Our dancers had been learning the routine in hour long rehearsals all across London and Hertfordshire over the last two weeks. In their striking red and green tshirts they all performed their hearts out and put on a fantastic half time show. To top it off we have 50 cheerleaders hitting gravity defying stunts on the pitch to really wow the crowd. Cheerleaders were from Saracens School of Cheer and Elite teams, as well as Aylesbury Cheerleading Academy and Hertfordshire Sirens.
Saracens Sport Foundation are very proud of everyone who performed on the day and are very happy to be able to offer these wonderful opportunities. All topped off with a Saracens victory!
