Day hopeful of positive end to the season
Dom Day hopes Saracens’ win over Harlequins at London Stadium will be the catalyst of greater things to come.
The Wales international featured alongside Maro Itoje in the second row as Sarries ran out 24-11 winners over their London rivals on Saturday.
The victory sees the Men in Black climb to second in the Aviva Premiership table and with Leinster in the Champions Cup quarter-finals next up, Day is excited about what is potentially on offer for the remainder of the campaign.
“It was a great occasion, a massive crowd and the boys were really pumped,” he told Saracens.com.
“We showed massive character at the end when we were down to 14 men for the last 10 minutes and they had everything to play for.
“We managed to get a couple of big penalties to get us up the field, grab three points to put us out the way.”
He continued: “It’s been an up and down season for me but I feel like I’m getting stronger every game and I’m just excited to be a part of what we’re building this year.
“Coming towards the end of the season there’s a big stretch of games for us so hopefully that win can kick-start us and get us into a few finals.”
