Premiership champions Saracens won 'The Big Game' at Twickenham to inflict a first league defeat of the season on leaders Harlequins.
Owen Farrell's boot did the early damage, aided by a try from Quins old boy David Strettle, to open up a 19-6 lead in front of an 82,000 crowd.
Prop Joe Marler crossed after the break but Nick Evans, who had landed two penalties, missed the conversion.
Sarries hung on to close the gap at the top to just five points.
It represented a world record for the highest attendance for a regular season club fixture.

Saracens moved top of the Premiership by beating in front of a record crowd for club rugby union at Wembley.
Two intercept tries from Chris Ashton and Owen Farrell, alongside a finish from George Kruis, gave Saracens the lead in a first half where Karl Dickson went over for Quins.
Sam Smith took advantage of Steve Borthwick's yellow card to touch down and give Harlequins hope.
But Jacques Burger and Marcelo Bosch's late scores gave Sarries a bonus point.

Chris Ashton scored his fifth try in three games as Saracens confirmed an Aviva Premiership play-off spot by beating Harlequins.
Quins' Nick Evans opened the scoring with the first of four penalties, but Ashton's try and Schalk Brits' score put Sarries 17-9 up at the break.
Michael Rhodes and Alex Goode tries ensured victory in front of a crowd of 71,324 at the home of English football.
James Horwill's try in response was of little consequence in a costly defeat.
