Gallagher hoping to end block on a high
Matt Gallagher is hoping Saracens can end the block of Premiership Rugby Cup fixtures on a high against Worcester Warriors (Sunday 11th November, 15H00).
The full-back, who scored in the Men in Black’s last outing at Sale Sharks, has been an ever-present in the competition, adding to his try-scoring league appearance back in September.
He describes the period as ‘an enjoyable couple of weeks’ and says he’s relishing another run out in front of the Sarries supporters.
“It’s always nice to get regular game time,” the 22-year-old said.
“It’s been hugely beneficial and has given us young lads the chance to develop in a first team environment.
“It was great to grab the win against Leicester and we showed character to earn a draw at Sale, now we just want to end this block of Cup games with a win in front of our home support.
“Playing at Allianz Park is always special no matter the occasion and we can’t wait to get back out there.”
Sunday’s opponents Worcester sit top of the pool after two wins from two.
The Warriors fielded experienced sides in both fixtures, recording their biggest-ever victory at Leicester Tigers in the second.
“Worcester have a lot of good players and that’s shown in their results in the competition,” Gallagher said.
“We can’t think about what team they’ll put out; we just have to focus on ourselves, improve on last week’s performance and hopefully the result will take care of itself.”
