Great Success For First Global Network Conference
This season has seen the launch of the first Saracens Global Network conference, where coaches from our partner clubs around the world were invited to spend a week in London ahead of the pre-season fixture against London Scottish at the HAC.
Nine coaches from six of the Global Network Clubs were able to make the trip, spending the week observing training and spending time with the Saracens coaches as well as attending classroom sessions covering a range of topics from nutrition, personal development and S&C to more commercially focused talks including marketing, sponsorship and camps and festivals.
The conference aimed to give those attending an insight into the day-to-day workings of Saracens and to give them practical knowledge that they could take back to their own clubs and implement. The conference also served as a fantastic opportunity for discussion between the clubs and for coaches to build on relationships across the Global Network.
The conference was a resounding success for all involved, both those at Saracens and those coaches who visited from around the network.
Steve Brennan, coach at Seattle Saracens, said after the event “I think I am on firm ground to say that [we] left with a lot of good information and optimism about the Global Network’s possibilities in the future. The sport of rugby is going to see a lot of interesting developments here in the U.S. over the next few years and these kinds of engagements really help us to position the Seattle Saracens well to adapt to the shifting environment.”
Dana Uruci, representing Timisoara Saracens, added “the experience at the conference exceeded my expectations, I was extremely pleased with the way the week developed.”
We now look ahead to the new season as our clubs get back in to action over the coming months, including Timisoara Saracens who start their first ever European Challenge Cup campaign.
