Here's to you, Chris and Schalk
Saturday’s Aviva Premiership final saw the careers of two Saracens legends end on a high.
Chris Wyles and Schalk Brits hung up their boots after helping the Men in Black to a fourth English title with victory over Exeter Chiefs.
Ex-USA international Wyles scored twice in the win while Brits has a signed yellow card from referee Wayne Barnes to go with his winners’ medal!
The duo have given their all to Sarries for a long, long time and have made, and created, memories that will last with them and a lot of others for life.
Everyone at Saracens wishes Chris and Schalk all the best in their lives after rugby!
“It’s sad for us to say goodbye to two absolute legends of the club. It was a great, great day for Chris Wyles to score two tries and the way he scored them. He’s been at the club for 10 years and Schalk Brits has been here for nine; he’ll be chuffed with the way his career has finished. They're two great people who have contributed so much on and off the field. We'll miss them massively; they've been superb for the club."
“We all know as players what Chris and Schalk have given to Saracens and the many memories they’ve given us but we can’t speak enough about what a galvanising force they’ve been for the culture at Saracens.
“They’ve been unbelievable people; two guys that have been instrumental in building the culture and they leave with the full support of the organisation and a huge thanks must go to them for what they’ve given to the club.”
“For them to finish their careers like this is amazing. They both deserve all the credit they get. They’re incredible people, incredible rugby players and they’ve had brilliant careers.”
“Wylesy and Schalla are proper legends of the club and I’m made up for them.”
