I'm feeling good - Taylor
Duncan Taylor was pleased to get a solid amount of game time in Saracens’ friendly win over Bedford Blues on Saturday.
The Scotland international, who spent a large part of last season on the sidelines due to injury, has been in full training throughout pre-season and put in a positive display at Goldington Park.
“It’s good to get out there and survive a game if I’m honest!” he quipped
“I got 65 minutes under my belt which was nice and hopefully that will continue. I’m feeling good at the minute and hopefully it’ll stay like that for the duration.”
Sarries ran out 57-15 winners against Championship outfit Bedford in their first pre-season outing.
A blend of experience and youth were selected for the match which saw 28 members of the Wolfpack feature.
Taylor said: “We created a lot of opportunities out there. In the first half we didn’t quite convert them but in the second half we were far more clinical and managed to convert a lot of opportunities.
“Bedford are a team that will always come at you and they have some unbelievable attacking talent in their side; they always like to run the ball and we knew we were going to get tested defensively.
“I think the boys stood up to that for the majority of the time but obviously there is going to be work-ons. For a first hit out the boys can feel pretty proud of themselves; there were a lot of young guys out there who took it to them and it was really good to see.”
