I’m glad to be back - Day
Dominic Day is excited to ‘kick on’ with the rest of the campaign after making his return to the Saracens side last weekend.
The Welsh lock has had an injury hit start to his Sarries career but completed 80 minutes against Leicester Tigers in round 16 of the Aviva Premiership season.
It wasn’t the desired result for the Men in Black and Day hopes to right a few wrongs when Mark McCall’s side travel to Exeter Chiefs on Sunday.
Speaking to Sarries TV, Day said: “I can’t wait to kick on and play for the rest of the season.
“It’s been a frustrating few months with a couple of injury setbacks but watching the boys go so well on the pitch has been awesome to see. I’m just glad to be back and part of it; hopefully I can add a lot more.
“I’m still feeling the knocks (from the Leicester game) if I’m honest! We had a few injury setbacks during the game and I wasn’t expecting to play 80 minutes but I quite happy to get out there, stay out there and be a part of it.”
Day added: “It obviously wasn’t the performance we wanted as a team. We feel like we can put it right; we’ve had a big training week and we’re looking forward to Exeter.
“The boys were bitterly disappointed after last week, you could see it in everyone’s face. We felt we let everyone down – the coaches and ourselves – and we feel we’re good enough not to put a performance in like that again and right some wrongs this weekend against Exeter.
“We want to show the Saracens everyone is used to seeing. We need a massive work rate from all the players and that’s all anyone can ask for, then the performance will follow.”
