I’m really excited about the final – Wyles
Chris Wyles is determined to finish his time at Saracens on a high after scoring in his last outing at Allianz Park in the Aviva Premiership semi-final.
The ex-USA international will bow out of professional rugby at the end of the season, with Twickenham the final destination of his well-decorated career.
An electrifying home atmosphere helped Sarries to a 57-33 victory over Wasps to set up a meeting with Exeter Chiefs at HQ and Wyles wants the same again on Saturday.
“I’m just really excited about next week and I’m not trying to think whether it was my last game or not,” he told Sarries TV.
“It was nice to get a try in the corner. I was giving it the biggen before the game saying I was going to grab a pint, but it was too early in the game! I was hoping to grab one later jumped over and had one!”
He continued: “It was a great feeling overall in the game; defensively we let ourselves down at times, but they’re an extremely good attacking team, especially on that pitch.
“There are things to look at defensively but the atmosphere we created amongst the squad, the vibe and the emotion we put into the game was awesome and I think we need to draw on that next week.
“We’ve had awesome support for the Wolfpack bus, awesome support in the stadium, the atmosphere was awesome and hopefully we can repay the fans with a trophy.”
