Isiekwe wins Young Player of the Season
Nick Isiekwe was awarded Saracens Young Player of the Season at the Big Bash Awards.
The forward, who recently celebrated his 20th birthday, has produced some sterling displays in the pack this campaign, operating at lock and blindside flanker.
Only two years out of school, the England international is still classed as an academy player, making his achievements this year even more noteworthy.
In a season filled with many highlights, one moment sticks in the memory of many – Isiekwe making up 40 metres to put in an astonishing try-saving tackle on Bath’s Kahn Fotuali’i.
In total, he has made 27 appearances for Sarries this term.
“Thank you to everyone for your support this year,” Isiekwe said.
“I’m incredibly honoured to win this award. I’m looking forward to the future and finishing the season strongly!”
Another to step up to the challenge in the first team this season is Max Malins who won Academy Player of the season.
The England Under-20 star has impressed when called upon, scoring four tries including two against Leicester Tigers in a dazzling personal performance in the Aviva Premiership back in February.
Sarries face Wasps in the Premiership semi-finals at Allianz Park on Saturday 19th May (12H30). Tickets are on sale! To get yours, click here.
