It was a massive effort by everybody - McCall
Mark McCall says Saracens’ fourth Aviva Premiership title is ‘special for a couple of reasons’.
The Men in Black reclaimed their crown with a brilliant 27-10 victory over 2016/17 champions Exeter Chiefs.
Sarries’ form in mid-season was questioned in the wider rugby family but the Wolfpack pulled together to end the campaign on a massive high at Twickenham much to the delight of the Director of Rugby.
He said: “Having lost five games in a row in December and to be here and play the way we did feels really good.
“As a group we were calm, composed and fought our way through that period.”
He continued: “I’m most pleased with the quality of our performance. It feels like it was our best final performance because of the quality of the opposition.
“The players would say it felt brilliant on the field, we were so alive and I thought it was a top class performance.
“It was a massive effort by everybody.”
