It was nice to play again - Koch
Vincent Koch was delighted to return for Saracens in the win over London Irish at the Madejski Stadium.
The South Africa prop, who had been sidelined since February with an ankle injury, made himself known in the opening exchanges, putting in a huge hit on Exiles scrum-half Peter van Zyl.
Koch played just under an hour before being replaced and is relishing the prospect of more minutes ahead of the play-offs.
He said: “Going into the game I was quite nervous coming back but the boys definitely helped me and it was nice to play again.
“I was a bit rusty but game time will help with that. It was a nice win and I’m looking forward to next week.”
Sarries secured an Aviva Premiership home semi-final in style by scoring seven tries in a 51-14 win over Irish.
It’s the third game in a row the Men in Black haven’t conceded a second-half point and they have scored 22 tries in the process.
Koch said: “The boys have worked really hard for a home semi and I think the guys deserve it.
“Going into the play-offs we’ve definitely got our spark again and hopefully we can deliver.”
