Koch relishing 'huge challenge' away to Northampton
Saracens travel to Milton Keynes on Easter Sunday to face Northampton Saints at Stadium MK in the Aviva Premiership.
Sarries currently sit third in the table with Saints in seventh, pushing for Champions Cup qualification and prop Vincent Koch is expecting a huge challenge, explaining:
He said, “We had a couple of good games and I think this one this weekend is very important as well.”
“I think Northampton are a good team and with us resting a few guys it’s going to be a massive challenge for us as well and we’re hoping to back it up with a good performance.”
Asked about the specific challenge that his side will be faced by as they travel to the 30,500-capacity home of Milton Keynes Dons and three pool games at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Koch played down the impact the venue would have:
“I think it’s going to be exactly the same,” He said, “I don’t think the location matters to the outcome of the game. We’re going to approach it like we approach every game and hopefully we prepare really well this week and we can take another win on Sunday.”
Back in September, Saracens beat Northampton 27-12 at Allianz Park but Koch is not expecting an easy ride against the 2014 Premiership Champions:
He explained, “I think they’ve got a massive set-piece, which is really good. I think that their scrum is a weapon and we’ve been looking at that.
“We’ve been training hard to counter that and we at Saracens have a good pack as well so I think this weekend is going to be a massive battle up-front.”
