Love to Dance Christmas Party 2017
On Monday 18th of December Saracens Sport foundation held their 7th Love to Dance Christmas party which saw over 330 over 50s dance the night away.
Love to Dance had just 100 dancers in a village hall in its first year, showing just how much the programme has grown now filling 3 event rooms at Allianz Park!
Nigel Wray kindly popped in to see the party in action and said ‘ Popped into the Christmas party where all the various dance classes come together and numbered just under 350 of them all sitting at tables in the Fez and the 100 Club whilst the Tulip remained a dancing floor, not surprisingly! Clare obviously loves it and has done a phenomenal job and it's, as we know, much more than just about dancing, it's about people coming together, having friends, having somewhere where they can go and be happy. Amazing a rugby club is doing this!
This event is arranged annually as a chance for all 28 classes across Hertfordshire and North London to socialise, celebrate and show off their favourite dance of the year. As Nigel said it’s not just about the dancing, what’s great about the programme is the positive social aspect it has for many of the participants; it’s not just for the body, it’s for the mind.
One of the participants who has attended every party in the seven years we have been running them said ‘ Thank you for a wonderful day, it has exceled all past year. From the moment we walked through the doors at Allianz park the fun started. We appreciate everything Clare and the other coaches have done to make it such a successful day’
Also announced at the party was the exciting news that the Love To Dance participants have been asked to perform at London stadium on March 24th when Saracens take on Harlequins. This is an amazing opportunity for us as a programme to have a new performance platform to offer our dancers and it gives our participants an opportunity to perform to their family and friends and also show the Spectator’s just what we do!
