Love to Dance Gets Ready for Wembley 2016
Saracens Love to Dance Programme is very excited to offer the Wembley opportunity once again to our Love to Dance participants. Last year was the first year we offered the opportunity and it was great to see 150 of our dancers performing pre match while rock choir sang live.
One of the participants who took part in last year’s event said afterwards “The highlight of 2015 was dancing at Wembley Stadium before the Saracens v Harlequins Derby. Who would have ever thought that I would get to perform in front of a crowd of Rugby supporters and on the same programme as Pixie Lott at the age of 62! I have Love to Dance to thank for the growth in confidence”
This year we are hoping to have even more performing pre match when Saracens take on Harlequins on Saturday 16th April. Our love to dancers will be strutting their stuff to 2 songs this year while Rock choir sing live and all our groups having been working very hard in perfecting both routines for the big day. One of the routine will also be performed when Saracens take on Northampton on Saturday 5th March 2016 when Saracens are holding their Foundation day.
Saracens over 50s dance programme has been running since 2010 and the Love to Dance programme aims to get over 50s active by using dance. Six years on we now have 24 dance classes running weekly in Hertfordshire and North London and we are much more than a dance class. We are a weekly meeting club for friends to get together and share the same interests and socialise, not just in the 2 hours of class, but also in their own time.
