Love to Party!
On Tuesday 8th December we held our annual love to dance Christmas party.
This year we decide to try something new and use the Olympic bar at Allianz park which is usually used as the main bar on match days or running track during the week. The venue was amazingly draped and lite and looked fantastic and since running the Christmas parties this was our best yet! We saw 320 over 50s get together eating, drinking, dancing and being merry so it was a great success!
The Love to dance programme has been running since 2010 and now with 24 classes running in Hertfordshire and North London this is our biggest year yet! The Christmas party is a great way to get all the classes together and celebrate this time of the year it also a great way to show our funders what great work we do.
During the event we saw 19 classes perform their favorite dance number from the year including a number from chorus line and also a dance from the film pirates of the Caribbean all the classes and their coaches had worked so hard in the lead up to the event all their hard work had paid off as all the performances were fantastic!
From one of our love dance participants ‘ I must say a big thank you to you, and all involved, in making the Christmas party such a great success. The food, the entertainer & of course the 'dancers' were all brilliant. Last year was good but this year 100% better. Hope you managed to enjoy it too despite working so hard, very much appreciated by us all’
We finished the party with a rock and roll act ‘Alan Beck, Legends of rock’ and he was a great hit! Our dance floor wasn’t big enough for all the dancers but this didn’t stop them all dancing the night away, we even had a conger line making its way around the Olympic bar.
‘This has been the Best Christmas party so far! We all look forward to the party every year!'
All our love to dancers are looking forward to their next performance which will be at Allianz park on the pitch at our foundation match day on Saturday 5th March and then again at Wembley on Saturday 16th April.
