Marcelo Bosch: "Games Like These Are Unique"
Saracens’ Marcelo Bosch has said that the honesty in the Saracens squad is ‘unique’ as he and his teammates prepare to face Clermont on Sunday.
Sarries have the chance to leapfrog the French champions and reclaim top spot in Pool 2 of the Champions Cup on Sunday, but Bosch is not expecting an easy game.
He said: “We know that French teams at home are very tough to beat but it was a week for us to ask ourselves a lot of questions towards our performance and our result.
“We try to be honest with ourselves and are building confidence to go to Clermont and do as best as we possibly can.”
Saracens lost to Clermont at Allianz Park on Monday but Bosch says that the team has prepared correctly for Round 4 of the Pool Stage.
He explained: “We had some meetings on Wednesday and watched videos of what happened on Monday and a few of the players and coaches spoke about the feeling around the place; I think it’s always a good start when you are honest with yourself.
“From there, you can see what is lacking and then build; that is what we are trying to do; it gives us the confidence to go to Clermont on Sunday and give a different performance, we want to go there and really fight.
“The good thing about this club is that we’re honest with ourselves because we care and because we really want to show another performance and give another fight.”
The Argentina international also declared that playing in front of a packed Stade Marcel Michelin would be a special experience, saying:
“Games like these are unique and the chance to play in them is a gift so I try and embrace it as best I can and do as best as I can for the team.”
