Match Preview: Gloucester-Hartpury Women (A)

Founded: 2014
Head Coach:  Susie Appleby
Last Season: 4th
Website:  Gloucester-Hartpury Women

Gloucester Hartpury head into the fixture against Saracens Women on Saturday full of confidence having won their past two games.

Those victories were against Worcester Valkyries and Firwood Waterloo, ranked bottom and second-bottom in the league respectively, however, although they did also thrash Bristol Bears Women 53-7 in Round 11 to show their pedigree.

After eight wins and six defeats so far this season, Gloucester-Hartpury are fifth in the table, and they will be hoping to overhaul fourth-placed Wasps, who are only one point ahead and face DMP Sharks this weekend.

Gloucester-Hartpury have quality throughout their squad, including the league’s top try scorer, Kelly Smith, who added another four last Saturday. They also have England internationals Tatyana Heard and Mo Hunt, who were recently given full-time professional contracts by the RFU.

Last season Saracens played Gloucester-Hartpury four times, winning both legs of the semi-final, drawing with them at home (29-29) and winning away (7-33).
