Match Preview: Harlequins v Saracens
Second placed Sarries travel to Quins this weekend in round 10 of the Aviva Premiership.
While Quins come in to the game off the back of two tough away defeats the south-west London side have only suffered one defeat at The Stoop in their last five Aviva Premiership fixtures. Quins also have also maintained a good record against Saracens at The Stoop in recent years, defeating the men in black on their last two visits – a record Sarries will be looking to bring to an end.
Last time out
The two sides have already met this season with Quins snatching a single point victory in the Anglo-Welsh Cup. The sides last met in the Aviva Premiership in April last season with Saracens claiming a bonus point 40-19 win thanks to tries from Chris Ashton, Schalk Brits, Mike Rhodes and Alex Goode.
“It’s a tasty rivalry with Quins, there’s never been too much love lost I’d say; but it’s about not getting that mixed up with emotions, it’s about bringing that intensity but doing it with the right control.” – George Kruis
Harlequins Director of Rugby, John Kingston told the Quins website said: “We have had some thunderous games against Saracens in the last couple of years. They are European Champions and set the benchmark in English rugby and we will need to be at our very best to get the right result.”
New Face - Renaldo Bothma
Harlequins summer signing Renaldo Bothma will make his debut for the side on Sunday, lining up in the back row after recovering from injury. The 27 year old Nambian captain is a powerful ball carrier and it will be interesting to see how he fares on his first Aviva Premiership outing.
