Match Preview: Sale Sharks vs Saracens

Saracens travel to the North-West on Friday looking to extend their winning Premiership run to five games following last week's win over Newcastle.

Sale Sharks currently sit 6th in the Premiership and have won back-to-back games in the Premiership, Sarries meanwhile sit second, two points behind Exeter Chiefs at the top of the table.

Sale boast a strong line-up for Friday evening's game with Denny Solomona and Marland Yarde stepping into the wing positions. Faf De Klerk gets the nod at scrum-half while Rob Webber, Josh Beaumont, Ben Curry and Josh Strauss start in the pack.

Saracens have the returning George Kruis coming into the pack to replace the injured Will Skelton and boast the Premiership's most prolific carrier in Alex Goode, who has made 189 carries, making 1356 metres in the process. The full-back has also beaten 856 defenders this season.

The match is the second of four Premiership games in the current block, The Men in Black have already beaten Newcastle Falcons 25-3 and face Sharks before hosting Leicester on February 25th and taking on a trip to Champions Exeter on March 3rd.

Speaking exclusively to Saracens.com, Calum Clark previewed the Sale clash, saying:

"It's a really important block of games for us and if we're going to be where we want to be at the end of the season then we're going to have to perform well in these four games, we did okay against Newcastle but it's going to be tougher each week.

"They've got a lot of great young players and have signed some good experienced players, so it's a mix. They're capable of putting in top performances, so we're under no illusions of what kind of challenge we're up against if we want a result.

"We have to be able to do whatever the conditions dictate. They're a team who look to play quite a bit of rugby so we've got to expect that but equally we can't underestimate or shy away from the tighter exchanges and have to be ready for it all."
